Will that mean the Jewry in Diaspora will then be seeking favoritism for the whole population of I-P? Being an advocate for Israel will be being an advocate for all of Palestine? Oh bring it on! That is a true path to world peace.

Re: When Ehud Olmert again compares occupation to South Africa

The statements of former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert are
eye opening. I could not believe that he
was saying these things. His thoughts are
also a warning to all Israelis that current policies have a limited life span. I have a number of questions that I would
like to ask him.

When did you start thinking like this? Did you have these beliefs when you were the Prime
Minister of Israel, or did you have them earlier? How did you arrive at your present
understanding of Israel and Palestinian Arabs?
Were you informed by anyone, or did you arrive at your current position
by yourself? You must have been a Zionist
at one stage, and now you are obviously not one now. Have any of your friends followed you to this
point, if so, how many? How has your
current beliefs impacted on your relationships with your family, friends, professional
associates, on the one hand, and your former enemies on the other? I am absolutely amazed by the transition that
he has undergone. It is a hopeful sign
that there are more to follow.

Re: Watch furore over Stephen Hawking back BDS and realise its morality

I always find it strange that Germans are still held responsible for the actions of a brutal totalitarian state, while nationals of certain democratic states are not to a very large degree.

Re: Why standing up for human rights, against the tide, matters

Rushdie understates and overstates in typical sub-continent fashion.
I'm alarmed, though, with the dismissive way you deal with anti-Semitic rants on a FB page concerned with this issue. You say there should be no tolerance for anti-Semitism, but then how do you apply this to the apparent proliferation of such rants on the groups FB page?

Not only are such rants inherently evil, but they make the people interested in this cause look like dangerous crackpots and maniacs, or at best people who are way too tolerant of such.

I've been through this stateside. Back in the seventies and eighties, when we'd organize a pro-Palestine function people could stay on-message and made it abundantly clear that anti-Jewish hate-mongering was not welcome. He should be
offered alternative service to the army, as a conscientious objector. What he is saying about the civil rights of Palestinians
in Israel is true and rather sad. This sort
of behaviour by the state of Israel is clearly wrong, and it only leads to
people around the world questioning the integrity and legitimacy of Israel. A modern nation-state must never discriminate
against the civil, political, and cultural rights of any of its people, and this
must include their property rights. To act
in this prejudicial and discriminatory way is a form of state sanctioned suicide. What did they glean about the Shoah? That it is alright to target minorities by
not acknowledging and respecting their human rights. That it is alright to have an elite class that
enjoy full human rights, and an unfranchised class who continue to have their
human rights trampled upon, designated by race?
It is a disgrace.

Re: If I ruled the world

Right on!

Re: Daily brutality in Syria’s Aleppo

Dear Antony, Channel 4 has produced a documentary looking at the situation for women and girls in a refugee camp in Jordan. Men from the Gulf are basically buying brides, many of them still girls, and often discarding them soon after the marriage. The comments of the Syrian woman who acts as a go-between are particularly poignant. http://www.channel4.com/news/s... Alex Thomson, the Channel 4 reporter who has reported from Syria, attempts to be balanced and present what he sees. I feel he does it out of a concern for the country and people, without clear political motives. (So much in the media is politically biased, as reports were on Iraq.) http://www.telegraph.co.uk/new... You may be interested in the reference lists on "Australians for Mussalaha (Reconciliation) In Syria".
#1450: Marine Links Serco Pine Gap-In-the-Middle Attack to Clinton’s Benghazi September 12 Rape

Plum City – (AbelDanger.net). United States Marine Field McConnell has linked Serco’s development of a patent pool to support Pine Gap-in-the-Middle
attacks on Western intelligence services to a ‘Guccifer’ hack of
Hillary Clinton’s e-mail suggesting a September 12 2012 date (Pine Gap)
for the snuff-film rape and murder in a Benghazi hospital of Obama’s
late ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens.
Serco plays a key role in dirty intelligence operations globally.

Re: How anti-Semitism became normalised in the British Muslim community

Why do they write this rot. Yeah, it must be. Good thing, too, why if Muslim anti-Semitism was ever publicised the US would want to go to war to protect Israel, and guarantee Israel's (redundant, possibly, but I refuse to degrade the word "her") military superiority.

Re: How anti-Semitism became normalised in the British Muslim community

"How anti-semitism became normalised in the British Muslim Community"?

Hey, I've got a great idea! Maybe we can sell this Mehdi Hasan guy on the idea that the Zionists came to Palestine with only the most altruistic and egalitarian ideas and intentions, and it was Muslim anti-Semetism which caused all the trouble.
Only a little nudge, and he could be a real asset to Zionism.
Oh, and we need him over here in the US to help expound the idea that Africans were only kidnapped into chattel slavery because they were so anti-white.
And the fact that Hasan only refers to Muslim anti-Semetism, but never provides and significant examples of it (to avoid giving ammunition to the EDL? Oh, come on.)
So he says anti-Semetism is "normalised" in the British Muslim Community but doesn't give one example. Wait, I've got one. Do Muslims allow Jews to join their mosques? Ha, got you now, British Muslims!
However, as a Jew who is terrified of the consequences of Zionism, I thank Mr. Hasan. Every little bit of deflection helps.

Re: Hating Arabs is Netanyahu’s gift to Israelis

RE: "Netanyahu’s children waved hate-filled signs against Muslim players of the Beitar Jerusalem soccer team and set fire to its clubhouse. Netanyahu’s children waved hate-filled signs against Muslim players of the Beitar Jerusalem soccer team and set fire to its clubhouse." - Gideon Levey

MY COMMENT: It almost sounds as though "Netanyahu’s children" are Israel's equivalent of Mussolini's Blackshirts. Considering the origins of the Beitar (a/k/a Betar) Movement, I guess it should come as no great surprise. Of course, 'Lieberman's children' are just as bad or worse. And 'Feiglin's children' are far, far worse.

● FROM WIKIPEDIA [Betar]:

(EXCERPT) The Betar Movement (בית”ר, also spelled Beitar) is a Revisionist Zionist youth movement founded in 1923 in Riga, Latvia, by Vladimir (Ze’ev) Jabotinsky. Betar has been traditionally linked to the original Herut and then Likud political parties of Israel, and was closely affiliated with the pre-Israel Revisionist Zionist splinter group Irgun Zevai Leumi. It was one of many right-wing movements and youth groups arising at that time out of a worldwide emergence of fascism.[1] Some of the most prominent politicians of Israel were Betarim in their youth, most notably Prime Ministers Yitzhak Shamir and Menachem Begin, the latter of whom idolized Jabotinsky.[2]. . .
. . . The group initially praised Mussolini for his anti-communism and fascist principles, leading it to adopt the black uniform shirt of Italian fascism for a short period. Mussolini’s invasion of Abyssinia, however, was seen as “cowardly” by Betar and led them to break with him shortly after.[8]. . .
SOURCE – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B...

Mussolini set up squadrons of the Revisionist Zionist youth movement, Betar, in black shirts in emulation of his own Fascist bands.
When Menachem Begin became chief of Betar, he preferred the brown shirts of the Hitler gangs, a uniform Begin and Betar members wore to all meetings and rallies - at which they greeted each other and opened and closed meetings with the fascist salute. . .
SOURCE - http://www.marxists.de/middlea...

Re: The taxing life of a drone pilot

The carpal tunnel malingerer seems to be slurring his speech a bit.
